UTILITY CHARGES AT THE COTTAGEFor any rental less than nine weeks in duration, all utilities, unless otherwise stated, are included in the rent stated. For any rental of nine, or more, consecutive weeks (i.e. a seasonal rental) the renter is responsible for all usage charges during the term of the rental. Some basic cahrges may not apply to the rental. Utility charges could include charges for electricity, natural gas, propane and/or septic tank pump-outs. If the property is on municipal services, utility charges could also include water and sewage rates. It is the Owner's responsibility to provide the Company with all bills for hydro etc. Without these we cannot provide an accurate charge. It is also recommended that meter readings be taken both at the start and end of the rental.
TELEPHONE CHARGESUse of a property's telephone for local calls is included. Long distance calls must be charged to a calling card or another number. ANY LONG DISTANCE CALLS MADE DURING THE PERIOD OF YOUR RENTAL WILL BE DEDUCTED FROM THE SECURITY DEPOSIT ALONG WITH A $20 HANDLING CHARGE. If you know that you will be using the telephone for many long distance calls i.e. business use, the internet, the owner may ask for payment of the phone charges before the end of the rental. Note, some cottage owners have a block on thier phone for long distance charges. It is up to the owner to advise us if this is the case. Satellite charges may apply on some cottages, especially for paid movies. There could also be a charge for internet useage. Such charges are the decision of the cottage owner.b |
